We'd like you to meet Beverly Morris. She is our Scheduler for Mountain Communities SPCA’s dog and cat spay/neuter clinics. When people see one of the ads for the clinics and decide to call, Beverly is the one who answers.

Beverly lives in Cuddy Valley and was concerned about the feral cat population. Just feeding a feral cat colony is a noble thing to do; however, the numbers keep increasing, despite a large percentage that are lost to wildlife, particularly coyotes. Beverly bought some Havahart traps, and started her own Trap-Neuter-Release program, taking the cats in one by one for spay/neutering at her own expense.

When the SPCA first began here in the Frazier Mountain communities, Beverly could not offer a home to more cats and dogs. Instead she volunteered to make the phone calls to set up a schedule to take feral cats to Fix Nation; Fix Nation (see fixnation.org) does spay/neuter surgeries on feral cats for free.  However, there are costs for the SPCA in arranging for transportation of the cats to fix nation's Sunland facility.  They take a small number of tame cats on a low cost fee basis.

For each cat that is fixed Beverly makes any number of phone calls getting it arranged. She does it so skillfully and pleasantly and that we receive many compliments on Beverly's surface on behalf of the animals. Beverly genuinely likes people and they like her in return.

Without Beverly, our all-volunteer organization could not accomplish what it has. We are grateful to her.
