Welcome to the Mountain Communities SPCA website!
Our mission is to rescue abandoned, stray and neglected dogs and cats in the Frazier Mountain communities. We provide temporary foster homes, arrange permanent adoptions, obtain veterinary care including spay/neuter, and offer education on the humane treatment of animals.
We are located where Kern, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties
meet at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley in Central California.

Spring Barn Sale
Our May 15-17 Barn Sale held at the home of Mike and Robin Horowitz in Cuddy Valley was an unparalelled success. A success based on the donations that flooded in from every corner of the Mountain Communities. Inside the barn we spent time cleaning, organizing, and displaying wonderful items ranging from antique jewellry and clocks to 1930's wall sconces, to DVDs and books, toys, and musical instruments.
We have added to our meager treasury again, which will allow us to consider spay/neuter procedures on dogs on a case by case basis. It is easier, and cheaper, for us to spay/neuter cats.
We invite you to contact us if your pet needs spay/neutering. We say yes every time we can and that depends on the treasury.
Our next Barn Sale will be held this fall. Our donation trailer is parked at the lowest level of the Ace Hardware parking lot in Frazier Park, where you may leave donations at any time. We collect gently used, saleable donations year round.
Thanks to all of you again.
